Bird College was founded in 1946 by Doreen Bird. Today the College has over seventy years of experience in providing professional vocational training in Dance and Musical Theatre. The College recruits internationally and auditions more than 1500 candidates each year for our 3 courses. Many of our graduates can be seen working in theatre, film and television around the world.
The College is recognised as an international Centre of Excellence. It is a partner College of the University of Greenwich who validate the Degree programme. The Diploma is validated by Trinity College, London and the College is accredited by the Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre (CDMT). Ofsted grade all provision as Outstanding. The College is a founder member of the Alliance for Musical Theatre Conservatoires (AMTC).
Bird College is established on a one site facility in Sidcup. The building has been completely refurbished and provides a state of the art learning environment with extensive facilities. The College is committed to enabling young performers identify, develop and nurture their individual skills. The quality of training that we offer is demonstrated by the exciting achievements of our graduates, who build successful careers in a wide range of dance and theatre disciplines.
We offer all applicants an audition, where you can begin to understand more fully the unique Bird College experience. For those with a special need, we strongly advise that you alert our Registrar to this at the point of application.
