Introducing the ultimate #Squadgoals – Meet The Face of MOVE IT squad!

MOVE IT is all about bringing dancers together and The Face of MOVE IT reflects that. Building an awesome squad of dancers is easy when you have dancers as good as our MOVE IT family.

Squad Goals

From different backgrounds, disciplines and styles, we had hundreds of fantastic applications. We had a really tough time selecting those that would be joining us for the Face of MOVE IT photoshoot, but the day came and six fabulous dancers stunned us across a two day shoot.

As the Face of MOVE IT, the squad will be across all the marketing material for MOVE IT 2018, with their faces, moves and name being shared across the dance world.

The Face of MOVE IT

With a Face of MOVE IT Squad selected, in a secret rooftop location in London, the first of our two-day shoot commenced bright and early. With the MOVE IT Team at the helm, choreographer Natalia Barua styling the moves and dance photographer Drew Tommons Virtuoso Imaging behind the lens, we kicked off with an amazing view across London as our backdrop.

With a combination of disciplines that includes hip-hop, belly dancing, contemporary and Bollywood – our six Faces of MOVE IT came to showcase their own styles and created a squad that everyone wants to be a part of!

We’re just warming up…

From high-kicks to box splits, we were blown away with the amazing talents of our squad. A sea of different colours, outfits and poses, each member pulled out all the stops, time and time again. Over the course of eight hours, our fantastic dancers showed us their skills in front of the camera.

Shooting on location meant that nature was our mistress, and with the sun shining down on us all day, we basked in the glow of the London skyline. Our Face of MOVE IT squad pulled some serious shapes, coming together to form a beautiful collection of dance disciplines that really depicts what MOVE IT truly means. As we closed the first day of shooting- with four different looks, an M&S picnic lunch and hundreds of photographs nailed, we headed home with the sun setting and day two on our tired but happy minds.

Day Two – On Set

Day Two started even earlier, but without the risk of Mother Nature taking over. Shooting in a warehouse studio in East London, the squad once again returned to show us all how it’s done.

Our Face of MOVE IT squad are on point, as always- this time ready with some new looks that reflected the style they know and love.

Lights, camera…

Everyone knows how many takes you must do to get the perfect selfie, well the Face of MOVE IT shoot was no different, with the shoot lasting nearly eight hours from start to finish.

The artists showed true professionalism – pulling different positions and skills out of the bag to get multiple, fantastic photographs and only wanting to stop for a quick spot of lunch and the occasional make up touch and outfit change.

The stereo played a mix of old school favourites (think Beyoncé, circa 2001) and subtle house beats, whilst bananas, cups of tea and M&S’s Millionaire’s shortbread were on the table to keep spirits high and sugar levels up. With a mix of group shots, individual poses and the odd bit of gymnastics, the second day at the Face of MOVE IT shoot was full of laughter and excitement.
