Friday Showcase (4.30pm) curated by Hip Hop choreographers Hakeem Onibudo and Tony Adigun
Tony and Hakeem have put together a seriously exciting selection of performances showcasing some of the best up and coming talent from the UK streetdance and Hip Hop scene alongside some dynamic and fresh examples of their own work. This showcase will feature FFI (Impact Dance), Avant Guarde Dance, Shockout, Sin Cru and Far from the Norm.
Tony Adigun Tony
Tony is the founder and Artistic Director of cutting edge hip-hop company Avant Garde Dance (AG). Tony has a razor-sharp eye for composition, musicality and form and has developed a distinct company vocabulary. Tony’s work has been performed at Sadler’s Wells, Southbank Centre, The Barbican, Brighton Dome and Stratford Circus. Hakeem Onibudo
HakeemHakeem Onibudo is a performer, choreographer/director, British Council Ambassador and professional host who began teaching dance in 1995, forming the company Impact Dance. Hakeem choreographed the Pet Shop Boys He is the creator and artistic director of LIVEVIBE, a performance platform that is resident at Sadler’s Wells and Peacock Theatre. The concept was recently taken to Hong Kong and is now being created and produced in partnership with the British Council in Zimbabwe. Hakeem played a lead role in ZooNation’s highly acclaimed Into the Hoods with at the Southbank in 2009. Hakeem also hosts and judges the MOVE IT Freestyle Stage, as well as high profile events and festivals from Breakin’ Convention to the Red Carpet launch of StreetDance 3D movie and CBBC’s Alesha Dixon’s Street Dance Stars. Saturday Showcase (3pm) curated by Wayne Eagling, Artistic Director of English National Ballet
English National Ballet have previously presented performances, classes and masterclasses at MOVE IT, and this year Wayne Eagling is taking the reins for 30 minutes , bringing awe-inspiring ballet to the Main Stage. The mix reflects the company’s innovative and inclusive approach to the art form, unafraid to take chances and with a focus on the next generation of emerging talent. The showcase will feature a unique collaboration between English National Ballet and streetdance stars Flawless, in which the ten-strong Flawless crew and the ten ballerinas from English National Ballet pit themselves against each other to show off their skills, admire each other’s talent, and generally celebrate all that is great about dance in 2012. It will also include some of the hottest up-and-coming talent in ballet with performances from the winner of the Emerging Dancer Award and the People’s Choice Award.

Sunday Showcase (3pm) curated by Strictly Come Dancing Choreographer Richard Marcel
Richard has been involved with MOVE IT many times over the years, from bringing Let’s Dance for Comic Relief to the Main Stage (you may remember him getting the crowd to Shake a Tail Feather’) to presenting his own salsa youth company and teaching his classic Dirty Dancing class at the show. This year he is curating a selection of performances from up-and coming stars of the salsa and swing world.
Richard MarcelRichard Marcel
Richard is one of the most versatile choreographers in the UK and choreographs BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing has worked with stars such as Madonna, Kylie Minogue, George Michael, Diana Ross, Tom Jones and Alesha Dixon. Richard has created dance for stage and screen, is working as a dance advisor on the set of 'EastEnders' choreograph for BBC1 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Richard has started pre-production as Artistic Director for the 4th series of BBC1 'Let's Dance' for Sport Relief. He is also choreographing on the movie 'The Wedding Video'. Richard is chairman of judges for the 'European Salsa Championship' held in London
